Network Operations Manager (Seattle)
As Network Operations Manager you will be a member of our team responsible for managing the systems that support our rapidly growing software business. This is a key position that will require heavy interaction with employees at every level in the company. You must have outstanding technical skills, and the ability to communicate clearly -- verbally and in writing with company managers.
Overall Job Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth functioning of the company's existing IT systems 24x7x365
- Deployment of upgrades as business growth requires.
- Maintain the company's critical systems including Linux, BSD, and Windows-based e-mail servers, web servers, update servers and intranet servers.
- Manage relationships with external providers including co-location and hosting.
- Manage the company's capital and operating IT budgets.
- Key partner in the development and integration of our desktop software products with our back-end web services.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years managing Linux and BSD-based servers in a high-availability production environment
- You must have experience with DNS (including DNS servers), NFS, FTP, SSH, SMTP, VPN, NAT, and DHCP
- PHP, MYSQL, Perl and Linux shell programming experience required
- Extra points for Java, Python and Ruby
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Apache Tomcat servers and Java-based applications
- Candidates must have excellent grounding in supporting peer-to-peer and sharing applications
